Connected with Numerous Partner Schools in Europe since 2010

European contacts and projects with partner schools, as part of EU educational programs, have been a key feature of our school’s profile since 2010. These initiatives have involved not only group exchange activities for students but also individual long-term stays. Since 2018, teacher training visits to partner schools for observation have also been included.

  • In 2010, the first Comenius project was launched in collaboration with four schools from Austria, Denmark, Italy, and France, focusing on „Sustainability and Lifestyles in Europe.“
  • In 2013, another Comenius project followed, focusing on generations, with part of the project dedicated to studying the First World War.
  • In 2015, we turned our attention to the topic of migration, and a documentary was produced with four partner schools from Denmark, Sweden, Italy, and France.
  • From 2017 to 2019, an Erasmus project focused on the use of digital media in teaching, comparing it with traditional methods such as books and handwriting. Part of this project included an empirical study, the results of which can be found on the website.
  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, all international projects were put on hold. A project with five partner schools on European identity and its values had to be completed in 2022, as only two out of seven project trips could take place. The results of this project are available on this website.

Since 2022, the development has been shaped by the relaunch of the EU’s Erasmus program. The focus now includes exchange activities, individual stays, and training opportunities for teachers, without a fixed project framework. Rottmayr-Gymnasium was successfully accredited for Erasmus+ in the first round of 2022, providing us with significant flexibility and fantastic opportunities for collaboration with European partners.

Each year, several project trips to partner schools in Europe are organized. We also support long-term individual stays for our students at partner schools annually. Additionally, RGL teachers visit schools across Europe for training and the exchange of best practices.
